The digital Archives Project of Japanese Rule and Postwar Historical Records

This project includes three projects:

  1. The Digital Archives project of Taiwan Provincial Level Institution
  2. The Digital Archives project of Taiwan Salt Industry Documents
  3. The Project of Building Taiwan Sotokufu Gazette Database.

The Digital Archives Project of Taiwan Provincial Level Institution

The Digital Archives Project of Taiwan Provincial Level Institution unifies the historical data stored in Provincial Government Archives of Taiwan Historica and Taiwan provincial Government Archive Center (1947~1999). The main goal is to establish archival digitizing image and information system.

The key point of this plan, lies in how to process and scan the numerous and disorderly provincial level institution archives effectively, constructs the files work, promotes to use stratification plane of the file digitizing, then properly preserves the important memory which Taiwan developed, and hopes for the presentation passing by each kind of creativity appearance of the political, the economical, the social, and the cultural transition.

The Digital Archives project of Taiwan Salt Industry Documents

This project is aimed to proceed archival digitizing image for Taiwan Salt Industry Documents, by using modern information technologies to establish catalogue and image database of Taiwan Salt Industry Documents during Japanese ruling period, before and after government’s moving to Taiwan, it will not only help people to understand the development of Taiwan’s salt industry, but also is very valuable for investigating history of Chinese salt industry, technology and economy.

The Project of Building Taiwan Sotokufu Gazette Database

Taiwan Sotokufu was the highest administration during the period of Japanese rule. We can look up and find out various important measures of the Japanese rule period via the gazette. The gazette includes laws, administration mandates and urban projects, etc. These precious materials can offer the firsthand accurate historic materials for historic researchers. As a result, we digitalize the materials and build the database in order to provide the research materials completely.
