Research and Development of Digital Archives and e-Learning Technologies Project
Research and Development of Digital Archives and e-Learning Technologies Project is formed by the integration of the National Digital Archives Program-Research and Development of Digital Archive Technologies and the National Science and Technology Program for e-Learning-Research and Development of e-Learning Technologies. The main mission of this Division Project lies in digital technology research and development, providing information technology support and consultation services for the content archiving projects and users.
The main objective is creating an integrated technology platform and developing advanced digital archive and e-learning technologies. The main research areas include multimedia technologies, video processing, digital rights management, language processing, meta-data processing, rare and variant Chinese character processing, and multi-modal information querying. Using the integrated technology platform as a foundation the aim is to encourage cooperation between various fields to develop digital archive and e-learning technologies by actually using the contents of the digital archives and nurturing of related human resources.
This Division Project includes a main project, three sub-projects and an open request-for-proposals project. The structure is shown below:
